Decoding topological codes.

I'm contributing to an open-source Python and C++ toolkit for simulating and decoding topological codes, built around Stim and PyMatching. My part so far is algorithm frameworks, pull request review and benchmark analysis.

Tools
Stim, PyMatching, Python, C++

Motivation

A topological code only protects information if something can read its syndromes and decide what went wrong, fast enough and accurately enough. Decoders are where the theory of a code meets its cost in practice.

Approach

Since June 2026 I’ve contributed to an open-source toolkit, in Python and C++, for simulating and decoding topological codes. The work is designing maintainable algorithm frameworks, reviewing pull requests, and reading benchmark results to keep the shared codebase stable.
